On Sunday the 15th of November 2009, The Honbu in Wincanton Somerset was the proud host of the first Washinkai Kumite course for nearly a decade. The eagerly anticipated course spurred an outstanding attendance rate, especially considering the energy draining weekend before of the Autumn Gasshuku.
The Honbu hosted this year’s autumn gasshuku and it was to be the first gasshuku held here since the damaging arson attack. Credit has to be given to all involved who managed to bring the honbu back up to being a worthy host.

On Sunday 18th October, Roy Taylor 4th Dan, hosted the Washinkai Cup for 2009 at his club in Wallington, Surrey.Washinkai clubs from Somerset, Berkshire, Surrey and Kent competed in this beautiful new sports complex.
