Annette Turpin is the Child Protection Officer (CPO) for the British Traditional Karate Association.
Annette has trained continuously with Sensei Thompson for over 17 years and currently holds the rank of 4th dan.
Annette is currently employed by the NHS and works at St George's Hospital in Tooting. For 12 years Annette has been working in the field of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry as Clinical Nurse Specialist (Child Mental Health).
Her work involves working therapeutically with children and adolescents, a percentage of who may be on the Child Protection Register and some will have experienced some form of abuse.
Annette, who liaises with Social Services where there are Child Protection concerns, brings many years of experience to the BTKA's Child Protection Programme.

Neville is the senior instructor for Kent and he is also a trained Family Liaison Officer, having been CRB checked he has taken on the duty of CPO for the East.

Luci has worked with children, especially those with special needs for a number of years. Trained in dealing with children who have suffered abuse Luci has taken on the duty of CPO for the South West
The BTKA has had an established Child Protection Team for many years. Born out of the belief that prevention is better than cure, the BTKA have implemented procedures to ensure that every child who trains within the BTKA is ensured a safe environment where they can enjoy and learn Karate.
